Why do I have to settle for just one word to encapsulate my goal or focus for 2021? I’m going diva on you and I am claiming a term that I made up for my 2021: “conscious un-procrastinating”.
Before I explain exactly what “conscious un-procrastinating” means, I have something to confess. I am a serial procrastinator. 2020 taught me about the uncertainties in life and that the things that we take for granted are never guaranteed. So here I am, someone who actually likes to write, and I am actually writing.
Here is my 2021 goal:
I want to learn about and explore the topic of procrastination, why people do it and learn “conscious un-procrastinating” in my life. This term I made up is a joking reference to the term “conscious uncoupling”. I want to take the relationship that I’ve had with procrastination and break up with it. I want to learn everything about how to do the opposite of procrastinating so that we will never ever, ever get back together. (Little Taylor Swift reference for you right there for you. Just in case you haven’t experienced this for yourself, watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA4iX5D9Z64)
Do you want to join me in this journey? My goal is to post a blog at least twice each month about my goal of “conscious un-procrastinating”…I would be even more awesome if I did it once each week, but you’re supposed to make your goals realistic and then try to surpass those goals, right?!!
