Earth Day is something that I’m very passionate about and something that I have spent a lot of time researching and effort trying to reduce the waste that my family and I create. I am a huge nerd about recycling, composting, using green products, and trying to reduce waste when I can. I’m not perfect about the whole zero waste goal, but I do what I can to help to reduce waste and help the world to be a beautiful, healthy place to live. Here is a list of some of my faves for reducing waste! If you want to be extra green-friendly you can buy lightly used versions of these to reduce waste and save money.
Kindle Paperwhite
Hands down one of my faves is the Kindle Paperwhite! I love being able to be able to bring so many books with me via the Kindle Paperwhite. It’s easy to read and has never bothered my eyes, and you can adjust the lighting if it gets brighter or darker depending on where you are. I love that this isn’t connected with my email or texts or notifications. I can just read a book and not get distracted by random notifications.

I legit love this product and have been using it for around 5 years already. They hold up very well and still work great after years of use! It’s so great with packing snacks with the kids or packing things when you’re traveling. I normally pack extra ones when we’re traveling so if we can put leftovers in them if we have a kitchen at the place we’re staying. I also use it at home for leftovers too. They are reusable, DISHWASHER SAFE and the best thing ever…or at least really great.

I have these reusable paper towels at home and I love them. They’re really cute and work really well as picking up spills. We don’t really buy regular paper towels anymore because this switch is so easy. This comes with a sturdy cardboard roll that you can use to roll up the reusable paper towels again after you wash them so it stores on a paper towel holder.
MR.SIGA Microfiber Cleaning Cloth, Pack of 12
These are the other dish towels I have that I use if I need to clean up something that might really stain so I don’t get the cute lemon reusable paper towels really dirty and stained looking. These are really soft and work well for cleaning mirrors and dusting or whatever. Very versatile.

This mug is my fave! It keeps your coffee warm or cold for so long! Plus, it’s DISHWASHER SAFE!!! Definitely worth the money!!!
HiBAR Shampoo and Conditioner Bar Set
This is one of those green switches that was SO easy and pleasant! There is a ton of waste with plastic shampoo bottles and the water that is put in shampoo and conditioner bottles. These bars are such a simple solution. Water doesn’t need to be added and it doesn’t require any plastic. The packaging is also recyclable. It also smells so good and makes your hair so soft! Plus, it’s really nice for packing on trips because there is no risk of shampoo exploding all over your clothes! Win, win, win!!!

Soap doesn’t really need to come in a plastic bottle with water added inside of it. These soap bars are natural, work so well, and smell amazing! I love that peppermint helps to wake you up in the morning! Easy switch!

If you just really don’t like bar soap or you just prefer regular hand soap, I love Grove Co. products. Their packaging is made from aluminum that the company refers to as “infinitely recyclable”. I also love their cute glass soap dispensers with the stainless steel pump…again no plastic! My favorite scent is the lemon & eucalyptus, but they have so many great scents that are all natural with no harmful chemicals.

Native Plastic Free Deodorant
This is my favorite natural deodorant and they have this great plastic free option packaging too! I love the coconut & vanilla scent. The deodorant keeps you smelling fresh through working out and anything else your day throws at you.
Make Up Eraser Reusable Cloth
This is another no brainer product that is the easiest switch! You just put some water on these cloths and it gets all of your makeup off. It does a great job with eye makeup too. Then you just wash it with your clothes or towels and you can keep reusing it. Easy, green and it works so well!
